Keely

Keely Morris

Veterinarian Assistant

Growing up on a farm in central Ohio, Keely can’t remember a time when she wasn’t surrounded by pets and livestock. This experience sparked a deep passion for animal care. Whether it was nurturing the outdoor cats or sleeping in the barn, waiting for one of the goats to give birth, Keely was dedicated right from the start. As she grew older, a career in veterinary medicine seemed like the natural path. As a veterinary assistant, she gets to work doing what she loves the most!

Keely’s journey began as a volunteer with a local rescue operation. That progressed to assisting with surgical procedures, and eventually she was hired as an assistant. Keely has been with Dr. Lauri since the very beginning and the two have been friends and colleagues for over 20 years. While she loves all patients, Keely has a special place in her heart for helping seniors enjoy a better quality of life and pass peacefully when that time comes.

Keely is married and has four children and two grandchildren (so far). Her fur family consists of four cats: Luke, Pumpkin, Smudge and Dex Star; a coon hound farm dog named Buddy; and a chihuahua mix named Bruce. Keely lives the quintessential “country farm” life. She grows her own vegetables, which she uses to make spaghetti sauce, ketchup, pickles, jams, and syrups. She also grinds her own flour to bake homemade bread.

In addition to tending to the farm and spending time with family, Keely’s hobbies include crocheting, knitting, sewing, cross stitching and more.

Assistant

Rebecca has been working with and caring for animals for as long as she can remember. Rebecca was born on a horse ranch, and growing up, her family has always had pets of all shapes and sizes, ranging from reptiles to draft horses and everything in between.

From a young age, Rebecca’s love of animals has always fueled her passion for helping them on a daily basis. Throughout her life and work experiences with animals, Rebecca has had the privilege to work with kind and patient mentors who took the time to answer her questions and teach her. Their own passion for animals and patience with Rebecca helped her realize her dream of helping animals.

During high school, Rebecca became involved with 4-H and FFA. To spend even more of her time with animals, she even began working part-time in a vet clinic. During this time, Rebecca recalls one veterinarian taking the time to guide her through a case of a heartworm positive dog from start to finish. This mentorship had a profoundly affected her and is one of her most memorable learning experiences. This experience taught her that helping animals begins by first learning about them.

After high school, Rebecca showed and groomed dogs for several years, and eventually, she met Dr. Lauri. After working together at the shelter on the surgical team, Dr. Lauri opened her own private practice, Safford Veterinary Services, and asked Rebecca to join her team.

When Rebecca isn’t at work, you can find her outside caring for her animals, including dogs, a cat, a small herd of horses, and chickens. Rebecca enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family (and all the animals, of course). As long as the weather is nice, you can find Rebecca outside with her loved ones.

Sandi Quentere CSC

Sandi Quentere CSC

Customer Service Specialist / Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner

Sandi’s interest in veterinary care stems from a strong sense of compassion for animals. She’s always felt an indelible bond between herself and those who are furry and four-legged. As a child, growing up in an apartment in suburban Chicago, Sandi remembers desperately longing for the day when her family could finally own a pet. Once that day finally came, she quickly made up for time by bringing home every animal she could, from stray puppies to rabbits and even a chinchilla. Being able to work in the veterinary field has been an absolute dream come true for her!

While Safford Veterinary Services is Sandi’s first official experience with veterinary medicine, she has a long history of helping animals through fostering and volunteering at a local shelter. Having been a client and friend of Dr. Lauri’s for many years, joining the Safford team seemed like the perfect fit. Sandi is proud to assist and support our clients as one of our customer service specialists. She’s also a Certified Reiki Practitioner who specializes in animal care.

Outside of the clinic, Sandi shares her home with her husband and their feline family. Their most recent addition, Lucy, was from a litter that Dr. Lauri had been fostering. A real comedian, Lucy loves to fetch toy mice and keep her parents laughing with her boundless energy.

In her spare time, Sandi enjoys being creative, so any type of art or creative expression interests her. In addition to knitting, crocheting and sewing, she’s recently taken up painting and pottery.
