Sandi Quentere CSC

Sandi

Customer Service Specialist / Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner

Sandi’s interest in veterinary care stems from a strong sense of compassion for animals. She’s always felt an indelible bond between herself and those who are furry and four-legged. As a child, growing up in an apartment in suburban Chicago, Sandi remembers desperately longing for the day when her family could finally own a pet. Once that day finally came, she quickly made up for time by bringing home every animal she could, from stray puppies to rabbits and even a chinchilla. Being able to work in the veterinary field has been an absolute dream come true for her!

While Safford Veterinary Services is Sandi’s first official experience with veterinary medicine, she has a long history of helping animals through fostering and volunteering at a local shelter. Having been a client and friend of Dr. Lauri’s for many years, joining the Safford team seemed like the perfect fit. Sandi is proud to assist and support our clients as one of our customer service specialists. She’s also a Certified Reiki Practitioner who specializes in animal care.

Outside of the clinic, Sandi shares her home with her husband and their feline family. Their most recent addition, Lucy, was from a litter that Dr. Lauri had been fostering. A real comedian, Lucy loves to fetch toy mice and keep her parents laughing with her boundless energy.

In her spare time, Sandi enjoys being creative, so any type of art or creative expression interests her. In addition to knitting, crocheting and sewing, she’s recently taken up painting and pottery.

Lindsay

Lindsay

Practice Manager and Certified Veterinary Technician

Lindsay grew up exploring different parts of the U.S. with her parents, sister, and brother before settling in Illinois to be closer to family. From the time she was little, she had one dream—to help animals. That dream led her to the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Colorado, and after earning her degree, she launched a career as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She’s worked in a specialty hospital and a reference lab, but in 2024, she made the exciting leap back into practice with a new role focused on her favorite thing: helping pet parents!

Educating pet owners is where Lindsay truly shines. She’s passionate about empowering people with the knowledge they need to keep their furry friends healthy and happy. Whether it’s explaining the importance of annual wellness care or diving into the details of bloodwork and cytology (yes, she loves a good microscope session!), Lindsay is all about making sure pets get the best care possible.

At home, life is a fun, furry adventure with her husband, two dogs—Dolly and Barnaby—and their cat, Mr. Peepers. Dolly is a high-energy social butterfly who loves daycare, while Barnaby, the sweet senior, still enjoys backyard zoomies. Mr. Peepers? He’s the boss, especially when it’s brushing time!

When she’s not caring for pets, Lindsay unwinds with crochet (she’s working on that perfect scarf!), video games, and long walks on nature trails with her dogs. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting—a hard-earned achievement she’s incredibly proud of.

Domenica

Domenica

Lead Veterinary Technician

Nica has always had a heart for helping fur critters and educating their owners. She joined the Safford Veterinary Services team in November of 2023 and has already fallen in love with her colleagues, clients, and patients. As our lead veterinary technician, Nica has a particular interest in assisting with surgeries. Her other favorite part of the job is the cheese or peanut butter kisses she gets from her canine patients.

At home, Nica is pet mom to three dogs and three cats (although one of the cats thinks she’s a dog). She is currently waiting for the perfect rottweiler to come her way and is also in the process of growing her human family as well.

Lizette

Lizette

Receptionist

Lizette is a creative soul with a heart full of love for animals and a knack for artistic expression. She graduated from Waubonsee Community College in May 2024, earning associate degrees in science and arts. Her passion for learning and storytelling was evident in her role as a co-editor-in-chief for Waubonsee’s literary magazine and a member of the creative writing club.

Growing up, Lizette cared for an Egyptian Mau cat, feeding him ham slices and hotdogs and creating cozy cardboard homes for him. Today, Lizette’s bond with animals continues as she connects with pet owners and learns about their unique stories. She’s known for melting over kittens and lighting up at the sight of big, fluffy dogs.

At home in Plano, Lizette is the proud caretaker of a blue pit bull named Zeek, a shy but affectionate tortoiseshell cat named Charlie, and Franklin, a chill red-eared slider turtle. Lizette’s creativity extends beyond animals. She’s a passionate crafter with skills in painting, drawing, writing, baking, and junk journaling. Her artistic pursuits earned her the honor of creating a painting for Brookfield Zoo’s silent charity auction, a moment of immense pride. She’s also a music lover with a taste for adventure.

Caroline

Caroline

Veterinary Assistant

Growing up surrounded by countless cats and dogs, animals became a fundamental part of Caroline’s life from the very start. By the time she reached high school and joined FFA, she knew she’d found her niche. After learning the ropes at a mobile vaccine clinic, Caroline joined the Safford Veterinary Services team and hasn’t looked back since!

As Caroline continues to gain hands-on experience on her journey to becoming a certified veterinary technician, she’s discovered that she has a particular interest in cytology and pathology. Being able to see the smallest of cells and structures under the microscope is fascinating to her. And, of course, there’s the opportunity to snuggle with all the patients—that’s certainly a perk you don’t get in many jobs!

Caroline’s support system outside of work consists of her parents and two sisters, all of whom she loves dearly. Their family is made complete with a pit bull named Paisley, and two cats—Freyja and Hazel. Paisley is Caroline’s “soul dog,” while the cats have perfected their early morning routine of waking her up at 5am for breakfast and cuddles.

Diana

Diana

Receptionist

Diana was born in Wisconsin. Around the age of 5, her family relocated to Illinois, where Diana grew to love small town living. Summers were spent riding horses at her cousin’s ranch in California—an experience that sparked a deep and lasting passion for all creatures, large and small. When the opportunity arose to work in a veterinary clinic, Diana jumped at the chance!

As one of the amazing receptionists here at Safford Veterinary Services, Diana enjoys connecting with other pet parents and sharing funny stories about their animals’ antics. Her other favorite part of the job is playing with puppies, and who could blame her?

Outside of the clinic, Diana’s life revolves around her three yorkies: Chucky, Chiquita, and Maggie (a.k.a. Margaret). Chucky is the stereotypical non-stop barker, while Maggie and Chiquita are a dynamic mother-daughter duo. In her spare time, Diana still enjoys horseback riding and hopes to have a horse of her own one day.

Kelly

Kelly

Customer Service Representative

Kelly’s love for animals runs as deep as her country roots. Growing up on a farm in Wheaton with her parents, sister, and a lively assortment of animals, Kelly’s childhood was a whirlwind of adventure. Her family’s farm was a haven for Quarter Horses and Australian Shepherds, and through 4-H, she mastered the art of raising and showing horses, cattle, sheep, swine, and more. Her experiences in 4-H, from caring for animals to honing her public speaking skills, shaped her into the driven and compassionate animal lover she is today.

Since high school, Kelly’s career has been a reflection of her lifelong passion. She started at a small veterinary clinic, supporting wherever needed, before becoming a veterinary technician, assisting with surgeries, dental procedures, and more. She’s also worked as an equine and livestock nutritionist, sharing her knowledge to support the health and wellness of animals both large and small.

Outside of work, life on Kelly’s “little farm” is bustling with love and energy. Her son, Justice, shares her hands-on spirit, often found tinkering with cars and trucks. The farm’s animal residents include horses Stryker and Goose, cats Ears and Heidi, and a pack of Australian Shepherds—Cowboy, Ruger, Blueberry, Midnight, Missy, and Ranger—who keep every day lively and full of playful adventure.

One of Kelly’s proudest achievements is her success with her Quarter Horse stallion, A Dynamic Mister. Together, they achieved second in the nation, multiple top-five rankings, Reserve Champion at the Quarter Horse Congress, and top-10 placements at the Quarter Horse World Show. Her dedication to breeding, foaling, and raising exceptional horses exemplifies her passion and perseverance.
